Niagara studio launches new iBook App

NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE - Keyframe Digital Productions, recipients of the Niagara Entrepreneur Award (Youth 1999) and current nominees for the 2011 Niagara Original (NEYA) Award, proudly present: Peggy’s Little Harbour, a new iBook App series taking your child on a wondrous journey into a world of lapping waves, chattering seagulls, and the infectious laughter of insatiably inquisitive, incredibly imaginative, and incorrigibly impatient Peggy – a seven- year- old girl with a pink fiddle, pink rubber boots, and a rosy-cheeked yearning to learn!

Released on October 4th, 2011, Keyframe founders, Darren Cranford and Clint Green have designed their new App exclusively for the iPad. The first iBook App of the series, Peggy’s Little Harbour – What Friends are For, boasts an array of tantalizing fully-animated sights and sounds. This gem of a story is narrated by the incredible voice talent of Order of Canada recipient, Gemini Award-winning actress, comedian, writer, Mary Walsh (This Hour Has 22 Minutes.)

The App also introduces an exciting new twist on the interactive experience, inviting you ‘into’ the story. Using the iPad’s internal gyroscope, young readers can tilt the iPad in any direction and look around ‘inside’ Peggy’s world, like a ‘pop-up’ book, only in reverse. “It gives it a 3D feel without 3D glasses,” muses Cranford, of his studio’s inspired innovation.

Join Peggy and her big Newfoundland dog, Droolie, as they set out on a hunt for blueberries, getting side-tracked by sounds coming from the river, where they discover a friendly beaver in need. Oh, no! A tree has fallen on his home! So, Peggy and her seaside and woodland friends all join in to help, in this charming tale of friendship and teamwork. Your child can listen to the narrator, and follow along as the words are highlighted, or stop and press a word to hear it again.

But wait! Peggy isn’t finished having fun yet! Press your favourite characters and objects to see and hear the sights and sounds in the harbour, as puffins flap, beavers chomp, and the lighthouse lights up your way. Point to Peggy, and she’ll play a jig on her pink fiddle just for your child, and get a big hug from Nanny, in the end. Then, play a mini-‘Peggy’-movie, or sing along to the fully animated theme song.

If your child loves ‘pop-up’ books then ‘pop-in’ to the world of Peggy’s Little Harbour, now available on iTunes, and look for an all-new adventure coming on December 10th!
